Donate for New Stella Maris Center

Picture
To migrant workers who have come to work in Taiwan away from their native homes, it is very difficult to adjust themselves to a different environment and culture. Many of them face discriminations and exploitations. Moreover, obstacles in communications because of different languages also hinder the migrant workers to seek for proper assistance. These recent years, Stella Maris has been enthusiastically involved in providing shelter for migrant workers in plight, helping them fight for their rights and benefits, regain their dignities and justice, and most of all, giving them supports, guidance and counsel. We even devote ourselves to accompany the migrant workers to meetings and negotiations with their brokers or employers. We help them rebuild their hopes and prospects in lives.

However, the center of Stella Maris is more than 50 years old now. To provide a more convenient and better environment for the migrant workers, we need to build a new center. The Scalabrinian Missionaries, the Diocese of Kaohsiung and the ITF (International Transport Federation) will committ 60% of the total cost for construction. We are still seeking for the 40% of the project cost. Thus, we need your assistance and hope that you can also be part of the realization of this construction project. A little contribution from you will be a big leap for us.
